Located in Wake County, near Raleigh, modern day Fuquay-Varina is a quaint town with a colorful history. Founded and settled separately, Fuquay Springs (originally knows as “Piney Woods”) gained fame in the mid-19th century with the discovery of the Fuquay Mineral Springs. The springs were named for the family of the Revolutionary War Veteran, Frenchmen William Fuquay, who owned the land the springs were discovered on.
The area south of the springs came to be know as “Varina” after the nickname the town’s post master, prominent business owner J.D. Ballentine, had for his wife. The two communities joined as one municipality in 1963, and boasts a vibrant historic downtown that blends the up-and-coming energy of a thriving city with small town southern charm.
Centrally located to Raleigh, Apex, Holly Springs, and more! With its easy commute to RTP, 540 and RDU and its big, spacious lots this new community is sure to please everybody.
